iPic Entertainment: Our Culture
At iPic Entertainment, we believe in serving others, setting high standards, and anticipating our guest’s needs. Our teams create memorable experiences and feel proud that our loyal members consider iPic a destination of choice. We frequently hear our guests saying, “I can’t believe I am in a movie theater” when they arrive and say “I am never going back to another theater” before they leave. This is the feeling we create for our guests.
We are pioneers. From the creation of our “Dining in the Dark” menu, our pod seating configurations, and Ninja service -- to the offering of live and alternative content in our auditoriums, we are always dreaming up ways to elevate the experience. Our properties are designed to be entertaining for couples, friends and groups alike -- filled with original, thoughtful art work, great music and genuine hospitality.
We believe in our unique concept, so we built an equally unique culture to accomplish our goals. People who work at iPic use a select skill set and point of view to achieve success. Our team enjoys a challenge and routinely step-up to deliver on the promise to our guests.
Like most companies, iPic Entertainment has defined the attributes we need all our team members to demonstrate:
- Be genuine and caring.
- Communicate clearly.
- Inspire others.
- Show a sense of urgency.
- Innovate boldly.
- Learn from failures.
Be genuine and caring.
Our team members are authentic, friendly people focused on caring for others. Our guests experience this with the team members they see – but behind the scenes in the Heart of the House or in the Home Office – our team members are focused on hospitality. Rather than teach this principle, we hire team members who believe in showing kindness to others. This allows us to deliver on our commitments.
Our team members need to communicate broadly and frequently at our locations and across the organization. We expect people to share information, ask questions, and provide feedback on every aspect of our business. Sometimes we have to share bad news with others. When this happens, we are honest and focused on making things better. In order for us to continue learning and performing, we have to use effective communication techniques every day.
Our team members do more than accomplish their goals, they also motivate each other to do a great job. We are a network of people who encourage each other to do more. Our team members routinely jump in to help each other, regardless of role. Leaders set an example by showing appreciation and coaching team members to improve performance and results consistently. People who strive to impact others in a meaningful way will find endless opportunities to do this at iPic.
Show a sense of urgency.
We get the easy things done immediately and the near impossible things cause us to pause for a minute to assemble resources and make a plan. We do not say “no” or “it can’t be done,” instead we find ways to accomplish every task. The pace at iPic is fast and we have many priorities, which is why each team member plays an important role and needs to make a consistent contribution. If you like to think fast and take strong ownership in your work – iPic will be a great place for you to thrive.
We are constantly changing our entertainment and dining options, finding new ways to delight our guests. We are forward thinkers – looking for ways to go beyond what we do today and make iPic even better for our members and guests. Our team members give us some great ideas and we listen and take action. Suggestions for new menu items, member specials, and holiday celebrations offer our team members a chance to get creative. We empower people to go beyond what they think is possible.
Learn from failures.
Fortunately, many of our good ideas do work well to increase guest experience, build a stronger team, or improve business results. When we try new things, we pause to evaluate if we hit the mark or not. Sometimes we find that the goals were not met and we adjust gracefully without blaming others. We can’t grow if we are not taking some risks, and with that often comes failure. The important thing is that we learn from mistakes to guide us in the future.
Our culture is an important part of our success. We are deliberate about hiring, developing and rewarding team members who believe in what we do and want to be a part of the iPic team. We will demonstrate the commitment to key attributes and appreciate what makes us such a special place to visit or work:
- We have fun at work.
- We create “WOW” experiences for members and guests.
- We are one-step ahead in entertainment and dining.
- People feel good about being in our spaces.
- Being at iPic is different than anywhere else.
- Leaders at iPic act as a “billboard” for our brand.
